Apples, Carrots, and Yogurt…OH MY!

Hi critters, Oswadl here!

Happy Spring! We have been “busy as a beaver” as one may say around here. The ponds are defrosting, and spring has sprung. Foraging has begun and it made me think…I should share my healthy eating tips with all my friends. And that means YOU!

We all know that eating healthy foods = having healthy teeth and gums. But, do we know what types of foods are beneficial for your teeth? Foods that are of a harder, fibrous texture, are great options. This could include foods such as: apples, carrots, cucumbers, celery, grapes and mixed nuts.

Foods that are high in calcium are also great options! This could include foods such as cheese, yogurt, dark leafy greens, and tofu.

And if you were me, I would avoid anything that is ooey-gooey and sticky. This texture of food can easily stick to the biting surfaces of your teeth and create…dun dun dun…CAVITIES! So, the next time you think about grabbing sticky candy like starbursts and skittles, and even fruit gummies and granola bars, remember that these foods can easily lead to dental decay.

Stay Flossy,

Oswald 😊
